According to the CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe, Floyd Mayweather will pay for the funeral services for George Floyd.
He said, “He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, (Mayweather) is definitely paying for the funeral. Floyd has done these kind of things over the last 20 years”.
Leonard Ellerbe also informed us that the former five-division world champion has spoken to the family of George Floyd and they have accepted the offer.
George Floyd is the black man who died last week in Minneapolis after Ex white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes. Ex-police officer Derek Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Many American citizens took to the street to protest which led to the burning of a police station.
Mayweather who won his first world title by defeating Genaro Hernandez in 1998 paid the funeral expenses of Hernandez when he died of cancer in 2011 at age 45.
