On Saturday 6th June, 2020 evening, there was a Black Lives Matter vigil at the Black Stars Square which was led by the leader of Economic Fighters League Ernesto Yeboah. The main aim of the vigil was to solidarize with African-Americans after the killing of George Floyd and to express concerns about racial inequality. The Ghana police service arrived later to interrupt the vigil. According to them, it was an unauthorized vigil while the organizers of the vigil produced evidence proving that they appropriately notified the police in line with the Public Order Act.
People who attended the vigil were holding placards that had the four Takoradi Girls who were kidnapped and killed, George Floyd, Amaud Aubery and Breona Taylor, Tiger Eye P.I. Ahmed Suale, Eric Ofosu and the Ashaiman resident who was shot and killed by a soldier during the lockdown of Tema.
This has led to the arrest of their leader Ernesto Yeboah and he has been detained at the Accra Central Police Station.
Ernesto Yeboah who is popularly known for the protest me made during the drop that chamber campaign is keen to always fight for the youth.
