Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and other Ghanaian Celebrities Plead on Behalf of Akuapem Poloo.

#FreeAkuapem Poloo has been trending on Twitter today after the court convicted Ghanaian actress Rosemond Alade Brown aka Akuapem Poloo.

On Wednesday, April 14, Poloo was convicted by an Accra circuit court after she pleaded guilty to the charges of publishing obscene material with two counts of domestic violence over posting a nude photo of her son in 2020.

She will be officially sentenced on Friday, April 16, 2021. She explained the idea behind the photoshoot saying that she gave birth to her son while not wearing any clothes, therefore, she decided to remind him of what she went through to birth to him.

This got a lot of people, both individuals, and groups calling for the head of Poloo over her act. Poloo deleted the post after she was severely criticized. She later recorded another video with her son to apologize to Ghanaians for the photo.

The actress could face a maximum jail term of three years or a hefty fine for indecent exposure on social media in front of a minor.

Since then, many Ghanaian celebrities have taken to Twitter to plead on her behalf that the law should be softer on her. Also since she is a single parent at least a fine will do rather than being sentenced to jail.
