On May 11, 2021, the church of Pentecost, commissioned a newly 300-bed capacity prison facility to the Ghana Prisons Service at Ejura-Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region.
The prison comes with some amazing facilities like a vocational and technical training shop, recreational centre, church building, and Baptistry.
Most Ghanaians haven’t really appreciated the work of the religious organization in the development of prisons in the country but have rather bashed the church in numerous ways for wasting their time. Others too have appreciated the work of the church.
Here some reactions from social media:
The church of Pentecost does NOT owe anyone, outside the Church, any explanation for what they do with their offering and tithe.
If you think schools and hospitals are important than a prison, look your government in the face and demand that.

The Church of Pentecost did a marvelous job by building a modern prison to support the Government. I pray we see more developmental project from our various churches.

Prisons are created to promote humanity not to dehumanize. Humans want freedom. But when urs harms others, u av to be prevented. Prisons isolate harmful people as a preventive measure.
However bad prisons are dehumanizing that’s why the pentecost church building a good 1 is right

Be like some of you don’t watch that prison tv show on UTV…like you won’t come on here and spew nonsense against a church who’s trying to treat these prisoners like real humans.
